Personal: An only child from Australia, her mother is a muggle and her father is pureblood. When she received her Hogwarts letter, her mother spent a lot of time persuading her father to let her go. He had given up his wand, so he was hesitant to allow Matilda into the Wizarding World. She was sorted into Hufflepuff on her first night in the large British castle that she had spent to summer prior to her first year excited to see. Leaving school with good NEWT grade, Matilda bought a small apartment in muggle London. After a few years of teaching at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, she took the position of Ghoul Studies Professor at Hogwarts.
